Auto-Lab of Fenton is Taking Care of Customers and Business

TRI-COUNTY TIMES | SALLY RUMMELBarbara Bishop (pictured left) may not know everything there is to know about engines and transmissions, but she has surrounded herself with people who do, so she can concentrate her efforts on what she does best.

At Auto-Lab of Fenton, that means taking  care of customers and running a successful business with her brother, Dave Gilles. It’s a business model that has worked for this local family for eight years, and is on track for many more.
“I believe in surrounding yourself with a strong network of mentors and role models,” said Bishop, a former corporate executive. At Auto-Lab, that means having the highest level of technicians at work, using state-of-the-art equipment. “Never settle for the status quo, set achievable objectives and don’t be afraid to ask for an opinion,” she said.

Bishop loves doing business in her hometown of 31 years, living and working near her children and grandchildren. “I’m at a stage in life where I want to be a part of my own community,” she said.

She doesn’t mind putting in long hours for her family’s business, especially when it means going the extra mile to make customers happy. “We put particular emphasis on how women and seniors are treated.

“We look at every customer as though they are a family member,” she said. “That keeps us grounded toward our mission of delivering a level of service that exceeds a customer’s expectations.”

Auto-Lab of Fenton is located at 16500 Silver Parkway, telephone (810) 750-9000.
